I have just started writing a website in the last couple of days. The website iswww.freesecuritydownloads.co.uk

The domain name is really self explanitory. What i am trying to do is to get some good quality security downloads such as avg8, avast and avira. also anti spyware, registry cleaners, computer cleaners, etc. Actually anything what is free what will make your computer run better.

If you have got any ideas of good downloads please reply to this blog or email me at colin@scholesworld.co.uk

of course if i put your suggestion on my site, i will put your name on the website

thanks

I have just been on holiday in spain. These are the things hat have happened. We arrived quite early so we did not get the keys to the apartment right away.  My stepson Eddie who lives in spain with his wife ros and our grand daughter phoebe isabel who we went to visit said to my wife, his mother, should we go to the supermarket to get the water and of they went. In the meantime i got the keys to the apartment and started taking the cases to the room.

My wife came back about 10 minutes later and said “someone had pinched all our money and the cashcard”.  It was in her bag which was wraped around he pram and while she picked up the bottle of water,  this morrocan tripped over her pram.  my wife thought nothing of it until she went to the checkout and found her zip undone to her bag.  1200 euros and £500 he got away with.  That was the first incident.

Phoebe our grand daughter who we went to visit, started to have an upset tummy, had the runs.  After a couple of days, has what happens sometimes, she started to get constipation.  But it got that bad she ended up going to hospital to have a enima( is that spelt right). That was the second incident.

The third incident while we was on this holiday.  My wifes mate at work, her husband Peter who is also a good friend of our family, had a tumor on his back and had it removed at hospital. He ended getting that mrsa and died.

Oh and i nearly forgot to tell you. a week before we went away,my mum who is 74 years old, was looking after my sisters dog while she went to a wedding.  My mother was in the kitchen chopping up some fruit and she turned round and fell over the dog.  She broke her hip and broke her wrist.  At the time of the fall she was alone in her flat.   Because of her injuries it took her over 20 minutes to get to the phone for help.

So the last 3 or 4 weeks have not been very good, i hope it improves……………

a charabanc from the 1930\'sWe moan these days about travel and roadworks, what with petrol prices and the cost of motoring.

When my dad was a lad, his family used to go to the seaside for a day out. The seaside resort they used to go to was Blackpool which is about 60 miles from his home town of Oldham near manchester.

The transport they used was called a Charrabanc (like the photo above, does not look very comfortable at all) which was an open topped coach that looked very much like a big car what used to seat about 20 to 30 people.

This Charrbanc used to travel at 15 M.P.H.  So that means it took 4 hours travelling time to get to blackpool.  But between that the Charrabanc used to stop halfway(at Preston) for 2 hours for a break.

So this was the timetable.

6 hours to get to Blackpool (60miles)

2 Hours Stay  at Blackpool

6 hours to get back from Blackpool (60 miles)

That means 14 hours for a 2 hour stay at the seaside.

who are you looking at??I only do this when i am the  watching churchill advert.

any ideas on other captions for this photograph?

If you have please comment or just comment on this photograph.

I got a new car about two weeks ago, a renault magane.  i thought that as seeing it is a nice sunny day i will see to my oil and water in my new car.  I found the oil dipstick ok and then i went to fill the screenwash.

I stood looking into the engine looking for the screenwash bottle to fill, and i looked again and again.

I could not find it,  i had a look in the boot, i could not find it.

After about 5 minutes looking, this oldish couple was walking down the street and they said “everything ok?”

I said “yes apart from i cannot find the screenwash, can you see it ?”

The old lady who i say was about 65 to 70 years old had a look and said within 15 seconds….

“is that the thing you are looking for” pointing at the screenwash bottle.

I said very sheepishly “Yes, thank you”

You would not believe i worked in the motoring trade when i was younger would you,

why can’t cars be simple like they used to be or am i making excuses.

How much a gallon is petrol in the U.S.A. these days?

In england we are paying over £5 a gallon, which is about 10 dollars a gallon in America

Have i got a right to have a little moan or should i pretend that everything is ok and carry on?

Today, 28th April 2008, my youngest daughter and grandaughter moved from our house to her own flat. She is the last child to leave our house, fledge the nest, etc.etc.

I thought yipeeee no kids lets celebrate, but………….

I have just come home from work, my wife is at work working nights, no kids,no grandkids.

The house is nice and tidy, no toys on the floor, no pots in the sink, very quite, just me and our dog Oliver in a 3 bedroomed house.

After 34 years with children, now all  3 kids fledging the nest, i have got one question……………….

WHAT DO WE DO NOW ???????????????

My wife, a good friend, our grandaughter(that is her on the left of the header), and i are going away to spain at the end of next month(may 2008).

We have got a place to stay and we just needed to book the flights.

So i went to the travel agent to see what price they were.  The travel agent went on her computer, asked us what date we are going, etc, etc.

The price came to £199 each for the 3 adults and £29 for courtney (infant).  So the total price for the flights were  £627.

I went home and went on the same travel agents website.  I keyed exactly the same flight, same time, same day, exactly the same everything.

The price came to £142 each for 3 adults and £10 for courtney (infant).  So the total price for the internet flights are £436.

So for exactly the same flight, same travel agent, same times, etc.  the saving is an amazing £191.

Thank goodness for the internet.

p.s. £191 saving will pay for all my beer for whole 2 weeks vacation lol

I was talking to a friend who was born in uganda today. About two weeks ago he went back to uganda to go to his sisters wedding. A few days after his sisters wedding his brother was involved in a car crash in which he sustained some injuries. He said “that there are no ambulances over there, when you have a car accident you have to rely on people in cars to get you to hospital.” so eventually they got him out of the smash up and took him to hospital. My friend said “you cannot believe what it is like in those hospitals, i saw trolleys with no wheels, it is that bad. The crash happened on a Sunday and he never got treatment until Tuesday. They diagnosed that my brother had internal injuries and he died later that day. He did not seem that bad on sunday because he was talking to me on the phone, if they had seen to him right away he would still be alive today”
Finally my Ugandan friend said “If the crash had happened in this country (England) he would still be alive today, a lot of people in this country take the National Health Service for granted”
